We can help, with skilled diagnosis and caring therapy.

Traditional therapies (play, talk, expressive) do not work with children who have attachment and bonding problems. Those approaches rely on the ability to form a trusting reciprocal relationship with the therapist - something a child with attachment issues cannot do!

We utilize a myriad of specialized treatment techniques that are designed to reach the hard-to-reach child. These techniques and interventions are tailored to meet the individual needs of the child and family in treatment, and may include cognitive restructuring, psychodrama, nurturing holding, somato-emotional release, reparenting, behavioral management, narrative therapy, EMDR and CranioSacral therapy. We also utilize family and couples therapy to help parents and siblings heal from the emotional wounds that result from living with a rage-filled child. All therapy occurs within a nurturing, supportive and safe environment, with active primary caregiver participation.

Children who have attachment disorder, left untreated, struggle with relationships and control issues throughout their lives. But, with specialized therapy, adults with attachment disorder can be helped to form healthy relationships at home and at work. They can learn to trust, cope with stress and attain their full potential.

NOTE: The Institute for Child and Family Development complies with the ATTACh guidelines regarding non-coercive therapy.
